Helping hand to the poor and needy people during the ongoing lockdown period

WDC inaugurated different training programs under Transitional Project in North Lakhimpur District, Boginadi Block in Kadam Circle. The trainings ongoing are Handloom/Handicrafts, Tailoring, Mushroom Cultivation under, Food Processing & Bamboo Making in 5 villages. These trainings are for the Adivasi community who were deprived from many opportunities from various sectors especially the women/men/youths that have lost their Jobs & Migrant returnees from during the Lockdown due to COVID-19 Pandemic.
WDC also is conducting awareness to 100 aged persons  on Safety Measures for Senior Citizens, Awareness programme on Environmental Cleanliness and Decontamination health care, no plastic, mass movement to mask wearing for  500  persons, Non formal Education to 200 school children, Seeds Distributions for Kitchen Garden to 250 families. These activities being carried out in 5 villages namely-Moridirgha, Bhabari, Pratapgarh, Tanga Basti No. 1 & Seajuli Bagan Purona Line in above mention block in North Lakhimpur District.
The Programs inaugurated on 15th October 2020 and will conclude on May 2021. The project is supported by Arise Foundation where WDC is implementing to help the poor and deprived community of Tea Garden in giving livelihood options.
